Mercury: Even a Little Is Too Much

Hi,

When I asked what toxins you most wanted to learn about, many of you said heavy metals — so let’s start with one of the biggest offenders: mercury.

Mercury is still around us in ways most people don’t realize:

  • Flu shots – some multi-dose vials still use thimerosal (a mercury-based preservative). According to the FDA, these contain:

    • 12.5 mcg mercury in a 0.25 mL pediatric dose

    • 25 mcg mercury in a 0.5 mL adult dose

      • Keep in mind I am not telling you what to do, or making recommendations.  I am reporting to you straight facts, and below are some ways people can assist in removing the burden. Moving on………

  • Dental amalgams – silver fillings continuously release mercury vapor, well more of they’re exposed to heat of physical contact. Like…….Eating!

  • Energy plants – burning coal puts mercury into the air, which settles into water and fish. Larger the fish typically the more concentration of mercury.

  • Other sources – Certain imported cosmetics or skin creams, old thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, button-cell batteries, and even some herbal remedies from overseas.

  • There are more sources of course, if I am missing a big one, just let me know.

👉 The important point: there is no safe level of mercury in the human body.

I’m not saying to rush into chelation or replace your fillings overnight — those strategies require care and timing (we’ll cover them in a future email). What I want to focus on today is how your body naturally protects itself.

🛡 Your Body’s Shield: Glutathione

Glutathione is your master antioxidant. It helps neutralize and escort mercury (and other heavy metals) safely out of your system. But here’s the problem: under toxic load, glutathione gets depleted.

That’s why I recommend supporting it:

  • My go-to is Trizomal Glutathione (Apex Energetics) — highly absorbable, available through our office.

  • Personally, I also get a glutathione IV every month for extra support.

🔗 Pair With a Binder

Binders help trap mercury so it can be eliminated instead of recirculated. Two I often use are:

  • Take Sumi Supreme – made from carbonized bamboo, which has a strong binding affinity for toxins.

  • HMET Binder (CellCore) – a targeted option for heavy metal binding.

Together, glutathione + a binder form a powerful foundation for lowering your heavy metal burden.

🧬 Testing for Autoimmune Patients

While avoiding mercury exposure is critical for everyone, it’s especially important if you have autoimmunity. Mercury can trigger your immune system to react in ways that make your condition worse.

That’s why I often use the Cyrex Labs test, which measures whether your immune system is reacting specifically to mercury. This helps us determine how much of a priority detox should be in your case.

We’ll go deeper into detox strategies in the weeks ahead. For now: protecting your glutathione levels is one of the smartest moves you can make against mercury.

If you’d like to order Trizomal Glutathione, learn more about binder support, or discuss testing, reply to this email and we’ll help.

🔬 For Autoimmune Patients

Cyrex Labs offers testing to see if your immune system is reacting to mercury.

  • If you have autoimmunity, this can help us decide how urgent detox should be in your case.

  • If your immune system is overreacting to mercury, reducing your burden becomes a top priority.

👉 Reply to this email if you’d like to learn more about running this test through our office.

Why toxins may be the hidden reason you’re not getting better
